Abby Laine Sienkiewicz is a social change agent, with a green thumb. She is passionate about making a difference in her community, social justice, and pickling. Yes, pickling.

Born in Michigan, the mountains of Colorado called to Abby in 2006, where she quickly decided to deepen her roots in Colorado Springs. Abby has worked within the nonprofit sector since her time at Western Michigan University where she earned degrees in family studies and holistic health care. Over the past 15 years, Abby has overseen arts education programs in partnership with the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center; worked with the State Historical Fund to restore landmark buildings; managed programs at La Foret Conference & Retreat Center; helped form MeadowGrass Music Festival; and served as Executive Director for both FutureSelf and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, where she led their merger with the Colorado Nonprofit Association in 2018.

Abby is an alum of Colorado Springs Leadership Institute, a graduate of the Leadership Pikes Peak Signature Program and a recipient of the Colorado Springs Business Journal Rising Star award. Abby was selected as one of twelve nonprofit and philanthropic leaders under the age of 40 for the national American Express and Independent Sector’s NGen Fellows Program. She has served on multiple nonprofit advisory and governing boards.

Whether gardening or building relationships, she creates environments for things to flourish. Abby connects people and businesses to nonprofits, is an advocate for food justice, and a champion for the next generation of leaders. She loves laughter, appreciates a good story and welcomes high fives. During her spare time, you can find her in her garden, cooking for friends or planning an adventure with her partner Mike and dog, Ruby.
